All Current Training Programs
Learning in the training program is always grounded in the participants experience of their
own movement and kinesthetic learning. The training involves extended and intensive ATM
and Functional Integration experiences. As such, for many students the training itself can be a
profound and unexpected transformative process. As one student said, “The training gave me a
chance I never thought I would have again.” Immersion in ATM over the first two years allows the
participants to experience the breadth and depth of the Method. Over time, the letting go of
conditioned habits and the increasing awareness gains momentum, so many participants experience
a positive and profound shift in their entire sense of self, and thus in many areas of their life.

| Description: |
We are pleased to announce the start of a second San Diego-based training, beginning in August 2009. Elizabeth Beringer will be the Education Director. She will be accompanied by some of the most experienced teachers in the field, including Dennis Leri, David Zemach-Bersin, Arlyn Zones, Mara DellaPergola, Donna Ray and Donna Wood.
Training in the Feldenkrais Method offers an entrance into a rewarding profession and the luxury of an extended and powerful personal growth experience. The Feldenkrais Method, being a general approach to human learning and functioning, can be applied in a wide variety of fields and situations. The field is relatively young, so opportunities for developing new applications of the Method are many. In addition to maintaining independent private practices, many Feldenkrais PractitionersCM work in such diverse fields as psychology, rehabilitation, physical and occupational therapy, education, physical education, ergonomics, gerontology, sports performance, art, voice, theater, dance and music.
The training will meet 40 nonconsecutive days per year and run over three and a half years. The course will be located at the Feldenkrais® Institute of San Diego, 3680 6th Avenue, San Diego 92103, in the lively neighborhood of Hillcrest, within walking distance of hotels, restaurants, bookstores, boutiques, coffee shops and a Whole Foods market. The Feldenkrais® Institute of San Diego, opened in the end of 2007 by Elizabeth Beringer. It is a 100 yr old building located in the heart of San Diego. NEW PROGRAM STARTING AUGUST 2007. OPEN ENROLLMENT
You are invited to participate in the upcoming New York City Feldenkrais Method Training Program with David Zemach-Bersin, one of the world’s most distinguished and experienced teachers of the Feldenkrais Method. David Zemach-Bersin is one of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais’ original American students and co-founder of the Feldenkrais Institute of New York and Feldenkrais Resources. He worked closely with Dr. Feldenkrais for many years in the U.S. and Israel, and is the co-author of best-selling book on the Feldenkrais Method, Relaxercise.
The program will have a weekend-oriented schedule, meeting 6 times per year, with students from the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Some participants will attend the program primarily for their own well-being, while others will attend because they wish to become Feldenkrais Practitioners.
The New York City Feldenkrais Training Program will take place at the Feldenkrais Institute of New York, a center devoted to the work of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais through teaching, research and a clinic. If you are interested in the Feldenkrais Method, or would like to see what the training program process is like, we invite you to attend our August 25-30 segment - or part of it - as an in-depth Feldenkrais workshop. The four-day segments in October and November will also be open on this basis. If you would like to speak with graduates working in particular fields, or students in our current program, we would be happy to give you references. Discounts on tuition are offered to students traveling from outside of the New York City area and there are a limited number of work-study scholarships.

THIS PROGRAM IS ACCEPTING TRANSFER STUDENTS
Our new BALTIMORE training began last Fall. The trainers are David Zemach Bersin, Julie Casson-Rubin, Carl Ginsberg (Germany), Ruty Bar (Israel), Donna Blank, and Aliza Stewart.
Feldenkrais Method Training Programs are traditionally made up of an extremely varied student population, which enriches the training environment. We are seeking a well-balanced student body, people from all walks of life, representing a diversity of human experience, interests, backgrounds and professions. Participants are attracted to the training program for a variety of reasons. Some join for professional development, to bring new perspectives to their work, to enhance skills they already possess, or to develop a new occupation and join a rewarding profession. For some, the option of being self-employed is particularly attractive. Other students join the program as a means for self-growth or healing, to improve their personal comfort and health, and deepen their understanding of the Feldenkrais Method.
Whatever their reason for beginning, everyone progresses together, while learning at their own pace. There are no specific pre-requisites for admission. Participants in previous programs have ranged from 18-80 years of age. We accept students regardless of profession, age, gender, race, or physical ability. |
